Job summary

Nottingham Building Society is seeking a People Operations Advisor to lead complex employee relations, coach managers and partner with leaders to deliver pragmatic people solutions. This permanent, full-time role offers hybrid working from Head Office in Nottingham.

You will use HR data to identify risks and opportunities, ensure compliance with UK employment law and regulatory requirements, and contribute to policy improvements.

Qualifications

  • Strong employee relations experience and a sound understanding of UK employment law.
  • Experience coaching and supporting managers on a range of people matters.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience delivering people projects, process improvements and organisational change.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable using HR systems, data and insights to drive decision-making.
  • Experience in a regulated environment (ideally financial services). CIPD Level 5 and knowledge of FCA/PRA/SMCR requirements are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a broad range of complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and flexible working matters.
  • Coach, guide and challenge managers, building their confidence and capability to effectively manage people issues.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, partnering with managers and leaders to deliver pragmatic people solutions.
  • Support organisational change activities, restructures and people-related projects, ensuring a positive colleague experience throughout.
  • Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing People policies, processes and ways of working, including implementation of legislative and regulatory changes.
  • Use people data, insight and trends to identify risks, opportunities and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Support key People Operations activities across the employee lifecycle and contribute to the delivery of wider People & Development objectives.

About the Role
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Hours: Full-time, 35 hours
  • Location: Head Office, Nottingham (Hybrid working, minimum 2 days per week)
  • Salary: up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
