HR Advisor

Location: Based in Stirling or Dundee but willing to travel across North, East & Tayside Regions

Your new role

The HR Advisor role provides efficient HR employee relations support to the business units, ensuring the effective delivery of the agreed Group HR strategy and providing proactive, business-focused HR support and advice. The HR Advisor will ensure effective management of employee relations cases across specific business units, working closely with Managing Directors and their Senior Leadership teams. Regional presence and support is a key aspect of the role.

What you'll do:
  1. Deliver an effective HR service to the assigned business areas, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures in line with best practices in people management.
  2. Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  3. Liaise closely with business leaders and managers to monitor HR practices and ensure compliance, providing professional advice and guidance.
  4. Lead case management across your business areas, handling complex attendance issues, performance management, grievances, restructures, redundancies, and reevaluation of posts in accordance with policies and procedures.
  5. Ensure consistency and compliance with case management, highlighting trends for the wider HR team’s learning.
  6. Support the development and implementation of HR policies and update Employee Handbooks as appropriate, ensuring policies are kept up to date on all relevant drives.
  7. Lead the production of HR reports regularly on topics such as employee engagement, sickness absence, turnover, analyzing trends, and highlighting improvement opportunities to the HR Manager, SLT, and Heads of Business.
  8. Monitor employment practice and law trends to advise on proactive actions.
What you'll need:
  • HR Degree or equivalent
  • HR systems experience
  • Chartered or Graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or relevant qualification
  • Commercial awareness
  • Commitment to CPD
  • Focused and highly motivated
  • Planning, prioritizing, and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience handling demanding ER caseloads
  • Confidence in analyzing data and interpreting trends
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Ability to cope under pressure
  • Knowledge of various sectors of the Group and ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, manage priorities, and maintain communication channels
  • Focus on continuous improvement
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel
