Reed Specialist Recruitment in Aberdeen is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to partner with managers and colleagues, delivering high-quality HR support across the full employee lifecycle.

You will help shape a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture, lead complex employee relations cases, oversee recruitment and onboarding, coach junior team members and drive strategic people initiatives.

Hybrid working is available, with a mix of office and home days.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification.
  • Previous HR Advisor or generalist HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience handling complex employee relations cases.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting HR processes and investigations.
  • Ability to analyse HR data and metrics.
  • Experience using HR and recruitment systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with multi‑priority management.
  • Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Degree in HR (Desirable).
  • Experience in a unionised environment (Desirable).
  • Project management experience (Desirable).
  • Budget management experience (Desirable).
  • Coaching/mentoring experience (Desirable).

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a role that combines employee relations, people development, recruitment, engagement and organisational improvement?

We're seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable HR Advisor to join a progressive and people-focused organisation in Aberdeen. Working as a key member of the People Team, you'll provide expert guidance across the full employee lifecycle and play an active role in driving strategic people initiatives that support organisational success.

The Role

As HR Advisor, you will:

  • Provide professional, practical and solutions-focused HR advice across a broad range of people matters.
  • Act as the lead advisor on complex and sensitive employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance and performance management cases.
  • Manage and oversee the full recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring an outstanding candidate experience.
  • Support and coach junior members of the People Team.
  • Produce, interpret and analyse HR metrics and management information to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, HR policies and best practice.
  • Support organisational development, learning and development, wellbeing and engagement initiatives.
  • Lead or contribute to HR projects focused on continuous improvement and people strategy delivery.
  • Advise managers on organisational change, job evaluation and workforce planning matters.
  • Support annual HR processes including salary reviews, benefits administration and compliance activities.
  • Champion a positive employee experience and foster a culture of engagement, development and recognition.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification
  • Previous experience in a HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting formal HR processes and investigations.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience producing and interpreting HR data and metrics.
  • Experience using HR and recruitment systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Desirable
  • Degree qualification in HR or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within a unionised environment.
  • Project management experience.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Previous coaching, mentoring or people management experience.
