Job summary

VIQU Energy in Birmingham is seeking an experienced HR Advisor on a fixed-term basis to provide broad HR support with a strong emphasis on employee relations.

You will partner with the HR Manager to deliver compliant guidance across the business, manage ER matters, recruitment onboarding offboarding, and maintain HR records while contributing to employee engagement and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HR advisory experience or equivalent.
• Strong employee relations experience and ability to provide compliant advice.
• Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, hands-on, and collaborative approach with high integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR advice on capability, disciplinaries, grievances, performance and absence management.
• Support formal and informal meetings with HR guidance and documentation.
• Assist recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, including drafting adverts and supporting interviews.
• Conduct progress and exit interviews and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate HR systems, employee records and training data.
• Support training needs analysis and development of training programmes.
• Contribute to employee engagement, wellbeing and wider people projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to deliver people objectives.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join a growing, people-focused organisation on a fixed-term basis.

This is a broad HR generalist role with a strong focus on employee relations, providing professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across the business. You will work closely with the HR Manager and contribute to a positive, inclusive and engaging workplace.

The role would suit an experienced HR Advisor who is comfortable working in a smaller - medium organisation and enjoys a varied, hands-on workload.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide HR advice and guidance on capability, disciplinaries, grievances, performance and absence management.

About You

You will have:

• At least 2 years' HR Advisory experience.
• Strong employee relations experience.
• Good knowledge of UK employment law and the ability to provide compliant advice.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Experience working through periods of change and adapting to different priorities.
• A proactive, hands-on and collaborative approach.
• High levels of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
