Job description

Location: Mostly working from home, with regular visits to our office in Congleton

Hours: Full-time, with dedicated time set aside each week for your apprenticeship learning

We are looking for someone who’s curious about how HR works and wants to learn more. You don’t need previous HR experience - just an interest in people, how workplaces work, and a willingness to get stuck in. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship.

What the role involves

You will be working closely with our HR Manager, learning how HR works in a busy and growing business. Some of the things you will help with:

  • Keeping our HR system up to date
  • Preparing letters and documents – job offers, contracts, references, etc.
  • Supporting the onboarding process for new starters
  • Keeping track of holidays, sickness and other leave
  • Answering straightforward HR questions (and knowing when to pass things on)
  • Helping to arrange training and keep records tidy
  • Support keeping our policies up to date
  • General HR admin and support

About you

We are not expecting you to know everything as this is a learning role. But we are looking for someone who:

  • Is organised and pays attention to detail
  • Likes helping people and solving problems
  • Can communicate clearly (spoken and written)
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality
  • Is comfortable using Word, Excel and email
  • Is happy to ask questions, take feedback and keep learning
  • Five GCSEs (including English and maths) or equivalent
