Job description

HR Administrator - London Gateway - Up to 35,000

Our client are looking for a HR Administrator to join their team in London Gateway. As HR Administrator, you will be tasked to provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR team. This role ensures smooth HR operations, compliance with industry regulations, and effective support for recruitment, on-boarding, employee relations, and health & safety.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday - 08:30 - 17:30

Location: London Gateway

Salary: Up to 35,000

Key Responsibilities

HR Administration

  • Support all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining employee records
  • Schedule interviews, conduct reference checks, and manage compliance documents (e.g., Right to Work, DBS)
  • Draft formal HR communications and assist in disciplinary and grievance procedures

Onboarding & Induction

  • Lead onboarding and induction for all new employees, including driver
  • Ensure all staff understand company policies and health & safety procedures

Compliance & Records

  • Maintain up-to-date employee records (contracts, licenses, certifications, etc.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with health & safety, PPE, ADR training, and legal standards

Driver Recruitment & Retention

  • Support recruitment efforts and monitor expiring certifications
  • Coordinate necessary training and license renewals

Health & Safety

  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure site-wide HSE compliance
  • Monitor and maintain safety equipment

Training & Development

  • Organize training sessions (e.g., CPC, safety, compliance training)
  • Ensure training is aligned with regulatory and company requirements

Employee Relations

Assist with conflict resolution and promote positive employee relations

Reporting

  • Provide data insights to senior leadership

General Support

  • Assist with uniform and PPE distribution
  • Liaise with legal on compliance matters
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Experience as a HR Administrator
  • CIPD Level 3 or above would be beneficial
  • Right to work in the UK and UK-based
