Job summary

Candidate Source is seeking an HR Administrator to support day-to-day people processes and be the first point of contact for employee queries. You’ll work with the HR Manager in a small team, handling general HR administration, payroll data, recruitment and HR systems.

This permanent, part-time role offers 25 hours per week on a hybrid basis, with salary £27,000–£29,000 pro rata. You’ll have opportunities to streamline processes as the organisation grows.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering day-to-day HR administration in a small/medium business.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or currently working towards it would be advantageous.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, with data analysis capability (VLOOKUP/PivotTable a plus).
  • Experience maintaining accurate employee records and working with HR information systems.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact for employee queries, providing guidance and escalating matters where appropriate.
  • Manage administration across starters, contractual changes, leavers, time and attendance, ensuring records are up to date.
  • Collate and check employee data for pay processing, investigating discrepancies and providing supporting evidence.
  • Maintain employee information within the HRIS and produce accurate reports for the wider People team.
  • Support absence monitoring, recruitment and induction, including arranging interviews.
  • Review administrative processes to identify opportunities for improvement.

Getting the detail right across people records makes a real difference to every employee in a business. As an HR Administrator, you'll help keep those essential processes running smoothly while becoming a trusted first point of contact for day-to-day employee queries.

You'll join a growing organisation and work closely with the HR Manager as part of a small supportive people team. Alongside managing core HR administration, you'll have the opportunity to spot better ways of working and contribute to improvements across the department.

HR Administrator, What's in it for you

Your responsibilities as HR Administrator
  • Act as a first point of contact for employee queries, providing accurate guidance and escalating matters where appropriate.
  • Manage administration across starters, contractual changes, leavers, time and attendance, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Collate and check employee data for pay processing, investigating discrepancies and providing supporting evidence where required.
  • Maintain employee information within the HRIS and produce accurate reports for the wider People team.
  • Support absence monitoring, recruitment and induction, including creating adverts, reviewing applications and arranging interviews.
  • Prepare employee correspondence, templates and forms while reviewing administrative processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
What we're looking for in a HR Administrator
  • Proven experience delivering day-to-day HR administration ideally gained within a small to medium business.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or currently working towards it would be advantageous.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and experience analysing data; VLOOKUP and PivotTable knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Experience maintaining accurate employee records and working with HR information systems.
  • Adaptability and ability to use own initiative and good problem-solving skills
  • Ideally payroll administering payroll data , checking information and producing reports
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Working hours: 25 hours per week across five days.
