Job summary

Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Group is seeking a Field Service IT Technician with strong HP hardware expertise. The role covers diagnosing, repairing and maintaining HP laptops/desktops and related peripherals, with on-site and remote support within a managed service environment.

The successful candidate will have hands-on hardware experience, BIOS/UEFI knowledge, Windows troubleshooting skills and familiarity with ITSM/ticketing systems.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with HP laptops/desktops and related hardware.
• Experience diagnosing and fixing hardware at component level.
• Knowledge of BIOS/UEFI, firmware, drivers and hardware configs.
• Familiarity with memory, SSDs/HDDs, displays, batteries, power supplies and peripherals.
• Proficient in Windows installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Ability to use hardware diagnostic tools and structured fault-finding.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, Wi-Fi and basic connectivity.
• Experience supporting printers and end-user equipment.
• Experience with ITSM, ticketing systems and SLAs.
• Ability to record diagnostic findings and resolutions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain HP laptops, desktops, and related hardware.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and replace components as needed.
• Install and configure operating systems; ensure devices run reliably.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to end-users.
• Document findings, repairs and parts used for each ticket.
