Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join a Plymouth housing team on a temporary contract, covering a patch of bungalows for older residents. You will manage day-to-day tenancy duties, respond to enquiries and complaints, and ensure a responsive, customer-focused tenancy and estate management service across the area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Housing Officer or in a tenancy management role.
• Strong knowledge of tenancy management procedures and housing legislation.
• Experience managing tenancy issues, complaints, anti-social behaviour and resident concerns.
• Ability to manage a caseload, prioritise demands and work independently.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a designated patch of properties, overseeing day-to-day tenancy management activities.
• Respond to tenancy-related enquiries, concerns and complaints with timely resolutions.
• Identify, investigate and address tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour and estate issues.
• Undertake estate inspections and property visits with appropriate follow-up action.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies and partners to resolve housing matters.
• Engage with residents, ensuring their views and concerns are heard.
• Maintain accurate records, case notes and housing management documentation.
• Monitor tenancy issues and take action in line with policies and legislation.
• Support delivery of a safe, well-managed, customer-focused neighbourhood.
