Job summary

Society of St James in Southampton is seeking a Housing Management Worker to join our housing portfolio and provide a high-quality service to adults and young people experiencing homelessness. The role is 37 hours per week, on-site, with a salary scale of £26,305 to £29,599 per annum.

You will liaise with support staff, finance, maintenance, Housing Benefit and external organisations to maximise occupancy, maintain safety, and ensure compliance with housing laws.

Qualifications

• Good IT skills and proficient use of IT systems.
• Good level of literacy.
• Understanding of housing law.
• Ideally, an understanding of the homelessness sector.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective, high-quality housing management across the portfolio.
• Liaise with support staff, finance staff, maintenance staff, Housing Benefit, contractors and others.
• Be proactive in maximising occupancy and minimising bad debts.
• Ensure the service meets responsibilities regarding maintenance, cleanliness, quality, and safety.
