Job summary

Leathermarket JMB is seeking an experienced repairs professional to manage the repairs service for around 1,550 homes in the Southwark area. You will oversee in-house and contractor works, ensuring fast void turnarounds and high standards of safety and compliance.

The role also involves fire door inspections and proactive maintenance planning. The successful candidate will have technical surveying experience, an HNC/HND in Building Surveying, strong diagnostic skills, and excellent IT and

Qualifications

• Proven technical experience in surveying or property maintenance.
• Excellent diagnostic, specification, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear, professional communicator with residents and colleagues.
• Proficient IT skills and experience with housing or repair systems.
• Strong ownership and pride in delivering repairs.
• Experience in a resident-led housing setting.

Responsibilities

• Specify and order repair works with technical colleagues and suppliers.
• Maintain budget control for repairs contracts and contribute to annual budget planning.
• Oversee repairs process for void properties and ensure high standards.
• Independently manage damp and mould issues, insurance claims, disrepair cases, and other complex repairs.
• Lead on accurate diagnosis of building defects using pathology, damp/mould, and safety hazards.
• Develop and maintain KPIs; review contractor performance.
• Ensure compliance with financial standing orders, regulations and policies; approve payments.
