NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

Position Details

This is a permanent, full-time position with a rotational shift pattern, including long days from 07:00 to 19:30 and night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. The schedule involves 3 weeks of 3 shifts and 1 week of 4 shifts every 8 weeks, with plans for further reduction in hours in 2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients with a wide range of mental health conditions, including care for adults and older adults, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Work across three sites: Dykebar Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital, and Leverndale Hospital, with initial placement at one site and potential rotation to others.
• Carry out assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care, adhering to standards set by senior nursing staff.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience of working with individuals with mental health illnesses.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Eligibility for PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland checks.
