Job Title: Health Care Support Worker (Band 3)

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide a range of services including acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position includes days, nights, weekends, and long days. Part-time hours will also be considered.

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, Band 3, Health Care Support Worker to join the nursing team within the Surgical Receiving Unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. This busy unit requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist registered nurses and the clinical team in caring for emergency receiving patients undergoing surgical assessment, investigation, and management.
• Contribute to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate patient-centered care.
• Work autonomously and within a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience

• SVQ Level 2 or willingness to complete within the first year of employment.
• Relevant experience in a caring environment.
