Scope of Responsibility

Caring Hearts is a privately run care company providing a wide range of housing, care and support services for adults and older people in their own homes. As a Senior Home Support Worker you will be part of the Review and Compliance Team. The postholder will perform a wide variety of routine/custom tasks to support on-going delivery of services provided by different staff teams within our organisation. You will be responsible for reviewing and ensuring care is provided in accordance with best practices and legislative requirements, reflecting policies, procedures and agreed standards under the direction of the Care Coordinator and Registered Manager.

Your work will ensure that the support provided to service users enables them to maintain skills and personal interests whilst still receiving person-led care unique to the individual. The postholder will maintain skills at current level and undertake such training and development as required from time-to-time to maintain and progress knowledge. This position would require a flexible approach due to the ever-changing environment of social care and able to adapt quickly to change. Candidates need to be reliable and motivated to drive new strategies forward.

Essential Job functions

• Work as part of the Branch team to complete essential tasks that leads to quality care
• Prior to each service commencing with a new client, carry out an assessment of what the client's care needs are and risk assessments for the service we are to provide
• Planning, creating and managing care plans/care needs assessments and reviews as required including assurance checks.
• Take part in multi-disciplinary reviews and liaise with different agencies
• Carry out professional observations, competency assessments and spot checks of Carers on the field.
• Investigate matters relating to the quality of the service and implement improvements
• Support the continuous development and wellbeing of carers
• Maintain proper customer care documentation
• Check the quality-of-care notes and identify any gaps for improvement
• Cover last minute shift cancellations when required

Basic Qualifications and Job Functional Requirements

Essential

• Driving license and access to your own vehicles
• Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills and be able to communicate well with various individuals with differing needs and communication ability.
• Confident working independently or as part of a team
• Good at leading a team and following directions within a team
• Reliable, motivated and creative worker to drive new strategies forward
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to identify and anticipate needs
• Ability to providing Care (in emergencies)

Desirable

• Experience as a Senior Carer / Team Leader / Supervisor / Quality assurance accessor
• SVQ 3
