Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Support Officer at Brandon Gate, Hamilton to deliver services to homeless households. You will work 35 hours per week, permanent, with a schedule including Monday to Thursday 8.45am–4.45pm and Friday 8.45am–4.15pm.

Experience in housing support and ability to liaise with agencies is essential. You may be required to join or update PVG checks; the role complies with regulatory requirements for working with vulnerable groups.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a housing support service with clients in vulnerable or distressed situations
• Understanding of current issues and legislation relating to protection of children and vulnerable adults
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively and respond to changing priorities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with a variety of agencies
• Willingness to undertake further training and/or qualifications as introduced by the Scottish Social Services Council
