Job summary

My Space Housing Solutions in Wisbech is seeking a part-time Housing Support Officer to help vulnerable adults maintain safe tenancies and promote independence. You will work 20 hours weekly across Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with flexibility to travel as needed.

Reporting to the Housing Manager, you will deliver person-centred support, develop tailored plans and liaise with community services. You will contribute to safeguarding, risk management and multi-agency collaboration while

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored, person-centred support based on individual needs, including homelessness, substance abuse, and mental ill-health.
• Develop and review support plans, including risk assessments.
• Support tenants to build independent living skills and access specialist services.
• Build professional relationships based on trust and respect.
• Manage a caseload of tenants and support tenancy sustainment.
• Assist with rent, benefits, budgeting and preventing arrears.
• Respond to anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches.
• Conduct property inspections and maintain standards.
• Prevent evictions through early intervention.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and complete risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records and follow health and safety procedures.
• Work with local authorities, healthcare providers and partners.
• Attend meetings and advocate for tenants.
• Carry out health and safety checks and inspections; coordinate property maintenance.

Location: Wisbech & Cambridgeshire, with flexibility to travel if required

Salary : £13,260.00 per annum

Job Type: Part Time, Permanent

Working hours : 20 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 10:00am to 15:00pm

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Housing Support Officer to join our team and deliver a high-quality, person-centred service to vulnerable adults. You will support tenants to maintain safe, secure and sustainable tenancies while promoting independence, wellbeing and social inclusion.

Key Responsibilities include:

Tenant Support & Engagement

• Provide tailored, person-centred support based on individual needs, sometimes complex needs including homelessness, substance abuse, mental ill-health
• Develop and review support plans, including risk assessments
• Support tenants to build independent living skills
• Support access to specialist and community services
• Build professional relationships based on trust and respect

Housing & Tenancy Management

• Manage a caseload of tenants and support tenancy sustainment
• Support with rent, benefits, budgeting and preventing arrears
• Respond to anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches
• Conduct property inspections and maintain standards
• Prevent evictions through early intervention

Safeguarding & Risk Management

• Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns
• Complete risk assessments and implement control measures
• Maintain accurate and confidential records
• Follow health and safety procedures

Multi-Agency Working

Compliance & Administration
