Job Title: Housing Support Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Support Officer to join our Community Service team. This role provides support to customers by ensuring appropriate information and advice is given to assist them in sustaining their tenancies.

You will maintain a caseload of customers and deliver person-centred support to those who often present with complex needs requiring a skilled response, e.g., those in crisis, with complex welfare benefit issues, or at risk of homelessness. You will provide advice and guidance regarding housing, health, social care, budgeting, benefits, debt management, and employment.

You will empower customers to develop the necessary skills and motivation to improve their lives and successfully sustain independent living.

About you:

We are looking for someone with experience in providing support, advocacy, or advice and guidance work in a housing, support, health, social care, or customer service setting, with an awareness of issues affecting vulnerable people. You should be solution-focused, possess effective communication skills, including liaising with a wide range of customers, and have a positive attitude towards team working. Being self-motivated and able to manage time and prioritize workloads is essential.

Full training will be provided within a supportive team.

Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be able to drive with access to your own vehicle or alternative transport.

The successful candidate will also be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
