Job summary

Belmont Recruitment is recruiting a Housing Customer Advisor for a supported housing service in Stoke-on-Trent. You will be the first point of contact for individuals accessing the service and assist throughout their housing journey.

Key duties include assessing referrals, providing a responsive service to vulnerable customers, working with partner agencies to prevent homelessness, and coordinating move-on options.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of housing and homelessness services.
• Experience working with vulnerable customers.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to assess individual needs and make appropriate decisions.
• Experience working with partner agencies and external organisations.
• Good organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple referrals and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assess referrals and identify whether the service can meet customer housing and support needs.
• Provide a responsive and person-centred service to vulnerable individuals.
• Work with customers and partner agencies to help prevent and reduce homelessness.
• Support customers with their housing journey and identify move-on options.
• Liaise with local authorities, housing providers, landlords and other partner agencies.
• Coordinate move-on pathways into appropriate longer-term or independent accommodation.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure referrals and customer information are managed effectively.
