Job summary

LATCH, a Leeds-based charity, is recruiting Housing Support Workers to provide flexible, person-centred support for tenants. You will handle an active caseload, assist with tenancy and welfare needs, and work to help people move toward independent living.

We offer 37, 30 or 22.5 hours per week with pro rata salary and a welcoming, values-driven team in Leeds. DBS checks apply; interviews are in late October 2026.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience as a Support Worker.
• Experience managing an active caseload of people with complex needs.
• Ability to build and maintain supportive relationships.
• Knowledge of homelessness and related issues.
• Ability to assess needs and develop appropriate support plans.
• Ability to prioritise changing demands across a caseload.

Responsibilities

• Complete housing and support needs assessments and advise on housing offers.
• Develop and regularly review support plans using the Outcomes Star.
• Help tenants establish and maintain tenancies and reduce homelessness risk.
• Support budgeting, paying bills, meals planning, and home management.
• Assist tenants to access welfare benefits and maximise income.
• Support tenants to access community activities, volunteering and employment.
• Complete risk assessments and respond to safeguarding concerns.
• Work with partners and attend multidisciplinary meetings as needed.
• Assist tenants to prepare for independent living and report repairs.
