Job summary

CIH International Housing Group is seeking a Housing Support Assistant Night Hostel to help young people aged 16–25 in hostel accommodation. You will support individuals to build confidence, independence, and skills for moving into independent living while coordinating admin tasks and safeguarding concerns.

Responsibilities

• Support young people aged 16 to 25 living in hostel accommodation.

Join Our Team as a Housing Support Assistant Night Hostel!

Do you want to make a real difference to young people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness? Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to build confidence, develop independence and achieve their goals?

As a Housing Support Assistant Night Hostel within our Selby Young People's Pathway team, you’ll support young people aged 16 to 25 living in hostel accommodation. Working alongside Housing Support Workers, you’ll help provide person-centred support that enables young people to develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to move on to independent living.

You’ll build positive professional relationships with young people, promoting independence while helping them access education, training, employment and community opportunities. You’ll support the delivery of group activities designed to develop practical life skills and encourage young people to have a voice in shaping the services they receive.

The role also includes supporting the day-to-day running of the hostel through administrative and reception duties, maintaining accurate records, responding to enquiries, coordinating repairs with contractors and landlords, and helping prepare accommodation for new residents. You will contribute to ensuring young people’s safety and wellbeing by identifying and reporting safeguarding and risk concerns.

This is a hostel-based role. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are required.
