Job summary

Inspire North in Skipton is seeking a Housing Support Assistant to work with young people aged 16-25 in hostel and dispersed accommodation. You will provide personalised support to build confidence, independence and life skills, while helping access education, employment and training.

The role involves hostel operations support, admin duties and driving to facilitate housing services. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.

Qualifications

  • Able to build and maintain positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable and socially excluded young people.
  • Strong communication, organisational and administrative skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and other information systems.
  • Able to self-manage, prioritise workload and consistently deliver results.
  • Understanding of safeguarding children and young people.
  • Flexible and adaptable in approach to work.
  • Experience of working with, or a good understanding of, vulnerable young people.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Join Our Team as a Housing Support Assistant!

Do you want to make a real difference to young people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness? If you're passionate about helping people build confidence, develop independence and achieve their goals, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Housing Support Assistant within our Craven team, you'll support young people aged 16-25 living in hostel and dispersed accommodation. Working alongside Housing Support Workers, you'll provide person-centred support to help young people develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed for independent living.

You'll build positive relationships with young people, supporting them to access education, employment and training, attend appointments, engage in their communities and develop practical life skills. You'll also help deliver group activities and encourage young people to have a voice in shaping the services they receive.

The role also includes supporting hostel operations through reception and administrative duties, preparing accommodation for new residents, maintaining records, and working with colleagues, landlords and contractors to ensure accommodation standards are met.

This is a hostel-based role. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are required.
