Job summary

Darlington Borough Council is seeking a full-time Housing Contact Advisor to handle Housing Rent, Repair, antisocial behaviour, homelessness and allocation queries by phone and email from a busy team in Darlington.

You will be the first point of contact for customers, needing excellent communication skills, patience in potentially difficult situations, and careful record-keeping. IT literacy with MS Office and data systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Approximately one year of experience working with customers in a busy environment.
• IT literate and proficient with MS Office and data management systems.
• Ability to handle potentially difficult and conflict situations with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Respond to housing rent, repair, antisocial behaviour, homelessness or allocation queries via telephone and email.
• Be the first point of contact for customers in a fast-paced environment and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure excellent customer service while applying policies and using initiative.
