Job summary

The Housing Services Department is seeking a dedicated Homelessness Case Officer to help people secure and sustain housing solutions. You will work directly with individuals in housing need, manage a varied caseload with sensitivity, and communicate clearly with customers and partners.

A DBS check is required, with offers conditional on satisfactory clearance. Candidates should have housing experience, IT literacy, and be able to navigate integrated housing systems while upholding equality

Qualifications

• 1 year of housing experience or more in housing need contexts.
• Experience dealing with people in Housing Need.
• IT literate and able to use integrated housing systems.
• Experience working with vulnerable people and safeguarding.
• Able to recognise discrimination and apply Equality Policies.
• Commitment to social inclusion and fair service delivery.
• Emotional resilience for sensitive, complex cases.
• GCSEs in Maths and English (grades 4-9/A-C) and a driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload with sensitivity and professionalism.
• Make fair decisions under pressure and communicate clearly.
• Develop housing solutions with customers and partner organisations.
• Work in line with housing legislation and safeguarding requirements.
