Job summary

Luton Borough Council is offering an Housing Solutions Apprentice role within the Housing Solutions Team in Luton. You will advise residents on housing matters, help them find suitable accommodation and assist with rent deposits, Housing Benefit and Discretionary Housing Payments.

You will support caseworkers with affordability assessments, maintain case records and learn to recognise safeguarding concerns while undertaking the required apprenticeship learning and development programme under

Qualifications

Experience working in a busy team environment.
Ability to support vulnerable individuals with complex needs.
Willingness to complete apprenticeship training and learning programme.

Responsibilities

Provide advice and guidance on housing matters and help residents find and secure suitable accommodation.
Support caseworkers with affordability assessments, support plans and applications for rent deposits, Housing Benefit and Discretionary Housing Payments.
Maintain accurate case records, monitor progress and make referrals to relevant services for ongoing support.
Recognise safeguarding concerns (including domestic abuse and child protection) and escalate when necessary.
Undertake required learning and development programme with line manager, tutor, mentor and assessor.
