Job summary

Luton Council is seeking an Employment Specialist to provide personalised, one-to-one support, helping participants set goals and create tailored action plans. You will assist with job searching, CVs, interviews and digital skills while addressing barriers such as housing and benefits.

You will build strong links with local employers, identify vacancies, and develop accessible recruitment pathways to improve employability and promote inclusive work opportunities in the community.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in English, ICT and Maths.
• Car owner and driver; willing to travel.
• Ability to work across locations and teams in Luton.
• CRM systems, Microsoft Office and video conferencing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised, one-to-one support to participants to create tailored action plans.
• Support job searching, CVs, interviews, digital skills and job-keeping; address barriers such as benefits, housing, childcare, health and travel.
• Develop opportunities with local employers; build relationships with the local labour market; identify vacancies and accessible recruitment pathways.
• Manage own caseload; work towards performance targets; ensure high-quality, consistent support; promote rights, opportunities and independence of disabled people.
