Job summary

Pilgrims' Friend Society is seeking a Housing Scheme Manager for Finborough Court Housing to oversee day-to-day management, support residents, and uphold a warm, Christian ethos within the scheme.

You will lead housing and maintenance teams, manage rents and services with the Finance Team, ensure wellbeing and safety, and promote occupancy while maintaining high standards of care. 20 hours per week with on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading housing staff or a housing scheme
• Budget control and financial administration
• Strong communication and liaison skills with residents and staff
• Excellent customer care and ability to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Assess the housing needs and allocate units according to eligibility
• Ensure occupants wellbeing is maintained to a high standard
• Manage staff and ensure cover during absences
• Oversee maintenance and domestic teams
• Work with Finance Team to manage rents and service charges
• Lead devotional times as required
• Provide excellent customer care and respond to inquiries
• Oversee health and safety of the scheme
• Manage complaints according to Society policy
• Promote occupancy and rental income growth

Job description

Housing Scheme Manager Join our dedicated team at Finborough Court Housing and play an important role in promoting our Society's mission and Christian ethos as our Housing Scheme Manager. As Housing Scheme Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the scheme, supporting our residents and ensuring they enjoy a loving, caring and supportive environment where their wellbeing is at the heart of what we do. We are committed to creating a warm and supportive environment for our "family members" (our residents) while maintaining the Christian ethos that is important to many of them.

• Assess the needs of potential occupants against eligibility criteria and allocate housing units accordingly.
• Ensure the wellbeing of occupants is maintained to a high standard.
• Ensure support plans are kept up to date.
• Lead and manage housing staff within the scheme, ensuring all duties are covered during staff absences.
• Manage the domestic and maintenance teams.
• Manage the Wellbeing Assistant.
• Work with the Finance Team to manage rents, services and other charges.
• Be responsible for devotions and lead devotional times as required.
• Provide excellent customer care, ensuring telephone calls, personal callers and clients are dealt with in a friendly, efficient and professional manner.
• Oversee the health and safety of the scheme.
• Manage complaints from service users, staff and others in accordance with Society policy.
• Promote the Society and the scheme to maximise occupancy, sales and rental income, ensuring enquiries are followed through and progressed towards occupancy wherever reasonably possible.
• An understanding of the needs of older people.
• Management or supervisory experience in a housing scheme or similar environment.
• Experience working in a customer-focused environment.
• The ability to lead and motivate others.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience in budget control and management.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Strong organisational skills.
