Job summary

MHA Housing is seeking a Housing Assistant to support day-to-day operations at Stanton Lodge, Swindon. This fixed-term role covers a busy housing scheme, ensuring residents feel safe, supported and at home.

You will provide a tailored housing management service across tenures, working with the Housing Manager and external partners to maintain safe homes and strong communities, aligning with MHA values.

Qualifications

• Experience in a housing-related role or similar customer-facing setting.
• Strong organisational skills including planning, prioritising, and record keeping.
• Good understanding of housing impact on health and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support the Housing Manager with the efficient running of the scheme, including housing management, maintenance and administration.
• Assist with void management, repairs, allocations, lettings and rent or service charge arrears.
• Lead on health & safety compliance within the scheme and support management of anti-social behaviour.
• Ensure accurate record keeping in line with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor budgets with the Housing Manager and approve expenditures.
• Support service charge processes and resident consultations.
• Provide advice on income maximisation and welfare benefits.
