Job summary

Oadby and Wigston Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic Housing Options Officer to advise households who are homeless or at risk. The role focuses on supporting clients to retain or secure accommodation, with emphasis on interview-led assessments and negotiated outcomes.

The post is based at Brocks Hill, Oadby, with agile working and minimum one office day per week. DBS check is required; guaranteed interview for eligible candidates under our scheme.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in a similar housing options role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience conducting interviews, investigations and negotiations.
• High attention to detail in casework and records.

The Housing Options Team are responsible for advising customers on their housing options if they are homeless or about to be homeless.

The Housing Options Officer role will undertake responsibilities including working with households who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to retain their accommodation or secure alternative accommodation.

If you have demonstrable experience in a similar role, excellent interpersonal skills, experience of carrying out interviews, investigations & negotiations and strong attention to detail we would love to hear from you. You can find out more by viewing the job description and person specification.
