Job summary

Ashfield District Council in Nottinghamshire is seeking a Housing Options Officer to deliver a customer-focused advice and assessment service for people threatened with homelessness.

You will interpret housing legislation, assess circumstances, and ensure compliance with statutory guidance and council policies to prevent or relieve homelessness.

The role also involves developing new practices, promoting housing options, and coordinating with partners; a DBS check is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer-focused, high-quality advice and assessment for people threatened with homelessness.
• Investigate customers' circumstances and assess housing and support needs in line with homelessness legislation and council policies.
• Help develop new working practices to prevent homelessness and reduce use of temporary accommodation.
