Ashfield District Council is seeking a Housing Options Officer in Nottinghamshire. • Provide customer-focused, high-quality advice and assessment for people threatened with homelessness or experiencing homelessness.
• Interpret homelessness legislation and Council policies to determine housing and support needs.
• Contribute to development of practices that prevent homelessness and minimise use of temporary accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a customer-focused, high-quality advice and assessment service for those threatened with homelessness.
• Investigate customer circumstances and assess housing and support needs in line with legislation and Council policies.
• Work to prevent or relieve homelessness wherever possible.
• Contribute to new working practices that improve take-up of housing options and reduce temporary accommodation costs.
