Job summary

BCHA is seeking a Housing Officer to cover a properties patch, delivering a high‑quality, person‑centred service. You will work to sustain tenancies, manage rent collection, and collaborate with agencies to resolve issues while maintaining safe, well‑managed environments.

Ideal candidates will have experience in housing management, strong knowledge of housing laws, and excellent communication. This role operates Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00, within the community setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing management or frontline housing support.
• Strong understanding of housing legislation and regulatory standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a patch of BCHA properties and support tenants to sustain their tenancies.
• Build relationships in your patch, identify support needs and help customers achieve positive outcomes.
• Maximise rental income by managing arrears and promoting a rent-first culture.
• Support customers with financial wellbeing, including setting up payment plans.
• Manage tenancy matters including sign‑ups, notices, court work, and evictions.
• Respond to and deter ASB using appropriate legal tools with partner agencies.
• Oversee voids and terminations, and ensure KPI targets are met.
• Carry out estate inspections prioritising safety and well‑being.
