Job summary

Horton Housing is recruiting a Housing Officer to join the LIFE team in Harrogate. The role covers housing management, health and safety, hazard reporting, rent queries and tenancy inductions.

The successful candidate will have empathy, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure. A full UK driving licence and access to a business-insured vehicle are required.

Qualifications

Job Introduction

Do you have a strong understanding of social housing and health & safety? Are you resilient with a passion for helping people?

We are currently recruiting for a Housing Officer to join our brand-new LIFE (Living Independently For Everyone) team in Harrogate . This role is 35 hours per week with an annual salary of £27,588 per annum.

As a Housing Officer at LIFE Harrogate, you will be responsible for housing management across our accommodation. This includes health and safety, hazard reporting, rent queries, tenancy induction and the management of anti-social behaviour.

What you will need:

• Be empathetic and caring, showing understanding and respect to people experiencing difficult circumstances
• Have excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to recognise the people we support as experts in their own lives
• Be resilient and adaptable with the ability to work to deadlines and remain highly organised
• Be observant and proactive, with the ability to identify risk and follow policies
• Good ICT skills
• An understanding of social housing, including health and safety, rent and reporting
• Experience in a similar role is advantageous

Please note this role requires a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle which can be insured for business use.
