Job summary

Cairn Housing Association is seeking a Housing Officer to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused housing service in line with the Scottish Social Housing Charter. Based in our Tenancy South Team, you will manage a designated patch and work flexibly across tenancy management, income recovery, and independent living support to help customers sustain their homes.

You will manage the tenancy lifecycle, undertake estate inspections and neighbourhood walkabouts, and address environmental concerns.

Qualifications

• Welfare benefits knowledge relevant to social housing.
• Detailed understanding of housing legislation and best practices.
• Significant line management/supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a designated patch, delivering tenancy and neighbourhood management services.
• Oversee allocation and letting of homes, viewings and settlements to minimise void periods.
• Administer all tenancy lifecycle processes including creation, termination, assignments and lodger requests.
• Undertake tenancy visits, estate inspections, and neighbourhood walkabouts addressing environmental concerns.
• Promote sustainable tenancies through early intervention and partnerships with agencies.
• Investigate and address anti-social behaviour and safeguarding concerns.
• Prepare and present court action cases when necessary, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and manage a caseload with timely progression of actions.
