Description du poste

We’re looking for a Housing Officer to join our team and provide a high-quality, customer-focused housing management service across our supported housing schemes.

You’ll play a key role in making sure our schemes are safe, well managed and provide the right environment for residents to thrive. You’ll manage everything from lettings, allocations and tenancy matters to repairs, compliance, service charges and resident engagement.

Working closely with residents, care and support providers, commissioners, management agents and internal teams, you’ll help ensure services are joined up and responsive to individual needs. You’ll also support the delivery of new supported housing schemes, helping to coordinate allocations and lettings as new developments come into management.

This is a rewarding role where your housing knowledge, relationship-building skills and understanding of supported housing can make a genuine difference to frail, elderly, vulnerable and disadvantaged residents.

Outline of key responsibilities

  • Deliver an efficient, customer-focused housing management service across sheltered and supported housing schemes.

  • Work with Lettings and Property Services teams to manage voids and lettings effectively and achieve performance targets.

  • Coordinate nominations, assessments and allocations with care and support providers and commissioners.

  • Undertake accompanied viewings and tenancy sign-ups, ensuring homes are let appropriately and within agreed timescales.

  • Support new supported housing developments by coordinating enquiries, nominations, allocations and lettings as schemes come into management.

  • Carry out regular scheme inspections and health and safety and compliance checks to help ensure residents have a safe and secure environment.

  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance and identify planned investment requirements.

  • Provide advice and support to residents on tenancy matters, taking account of their individual circumstances and support needs.

  • Manage tenancy changes, including mutual exchanges, transfer requests, improvements and adjustments.

  • Deal with tenancy breaches and antisocial behaviour, working with specialist teams and care and support providers where appropriate.

  • Monitor the quality and performance of cleaning, caretaking, estate services and other providers, ensuring agreed standards and contractual requirements are met.

  • Maintain effective management agreements, service level agreements and partnership arrangements.

  • Regularly engage with residents and stakeholders, ensuring their views, diversity and individual needs are considered in service delivery.

  • Contribute to scheme appraisals, sustainability assessments, service reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate tenancy records and contribute to reports, enquiries and correspondence.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver joined-up services and positive outcomes for residents.
We’re looking for someone who has

  • Experience of delivering a wide range of housing management services, including lettings, allocations, voids and tenancy management.

  • Experience of working in supported or sheltered housing, with a good understanding of the needs of its residents.

  • Experience of dealing with tenancy breaches, antisocial behaviour, safeguarding, service charges and other housing management issues.

  • Experience of involving and engaging customers and stakeholders in service delivery.

  • Experience of working effectively with multiple agencies and partners to achieve positive outcomes for residents.

  • Knowledge of best practice in housing management within a supported housing environment.

  • An understanding of the particular needs of frail, elderly, vulnerable and disadvantaged people, and the ability to respond sensitively and appropriately.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, colleagues and external partners.

  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.

  • A flexible approach to working hours, with the ability to respond to changing demands and priorities.
In return, we are offering the successful candidate…

  • Salary: The full-time equivalent (FTE) salary for this role is £33,758 per annum. Based on the working hours of 22 hours per week, the actual salary is £20,072.32 per annum.
