Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment is seeking a Housing Caseworker in London to manage a caseload of households in temporary accommodation and assist their move into settled housing. The role involves understanding needs, affordability and barriers, and coordinating with lettings teams and partner agencies.

You will assess housing options, support bidding, viewings and offers, while maintaining accurate records and helping households prepare for their move.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in housing, homelessness, temporary accommodation or housing options.
• Experience managing a housing-related caseload.
• Knowledge of housing options, accommodation pathways and homelessness legislation.
• Experience working with vulnerable individuals or households.
• Good IT, administration and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to travel for property and home visits where required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and progress a caseload of households moving from temporary accommodation.
• Review housing needs, affordability, location requirements and vulnerabilities.
• Match households with suitable private rented, social or other settled accommodation.
• Work with Lettings Negotiators to identify and allocate suitable properties.
• Support households with choice-based lettings, bids, viewings and offers.
• Contact households to explain options and next steps.
• Liaise with Social Care, health services, benefits/debt advisers and agencies.
• Carry out property or home visits.
• Process offers, refusals, letters and discharge notifications.
• Help households prepare for their move (benefits, schools, community).
• Deal with complaints and identify service improvements.
