Job summary

Stef & Philips is seeking a Housing Manager to lead the housing officer team and oversee property, occupancy, and welfare inspections across London.

You will manage a team of housing officers, mentor staff, and collaborate with other departments to maximise service delivery for vulnerable residents. A local presence in London is essential, with a focus on high standards and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a large multi-disciplinary housing team.
• Strong ability to manage complex housing cases and inspections.
• Proven track record in improving service levels in temporary/emergency accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of 15+ housing officers and an administrator.
• Ensure weekly property, occupancy and welfare inspections meet high standards.
• On-site support to resolve complex ASB, tenant and neighbour issues.
• Allocate patches and monitor inspection reports for quality.
• Maintain CRM records and reports with good data hygiene.
• Conduct monthly one-to-one meetings and staff reviews.

The Role

As our Housing Manager, you will be responsible for the performance of the housing officer department and ensuring our weekly property, occupancy and welfare inspections are conducted efficiently and to high standards. You will lead and manage a team of housing officers that manage a property portfolio across London.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of a team of 15 plus housing officers across the S&P portfolio and an office-based administrator.
• Supporting housing officers on site to effectively resolve complex situations, escalating to senior management if required - ASB, tenant complaints, neighbour complaints, high-risk tenants, inspections
• Implementing processes, reviewing the structure of the team, and identifying areas and trends which will lead to an increased level of service
• Regularly auditing housing officer inspections and providing feedback.
• Allocate patches to housing officers
• Ensure inspection reports are being carried to S&P standards
• General support, training and mentoring to housing officers.
• Conducting regular reviews and one to one meetings with team.
• Ensure void periods are minimised, and our management service is maximised by liaising with other key departments
• Carry out monthly 'one-to-one' meetings with housing officers
• Overseeing inspections
• Ensure the team are using the CRM system salesforce appropriately and good computer housekeeping practices are maintained in relation to backup procedures and filing of reports and documents

Skills & Knowledge

• Knowledge and experience working in temporary and emergency accommodation
• Experience with managing vulnerable individuals and managing HMO properties
• Knowledge of property-related development, standards, social housing and planning regulation
• Experience working with or for a local authority, housing association or housing provider
• Experience in managing a large team
• Genuine desire to help the vulnerable
• Ability to negotiate with consultants, council officers and external agencies
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and adhere to deadlines
• Full clean UK Drivers license
• DBS / Police checked

Desirable Skills/ Qualifications

• Chartered Institute of Housing National Practitioner level 3 or willingness to attain
• Experience working within the temporary accommodation sector
