Job summary

Stef & Philips Limited is seeking a field-based StS engineer to visit properties across London, inspect them for StS compliance and carry out remedial maintenance as required. You will attend annual StS inspections and build strong working relationships with inspectors, joining a team of field maintenance tradespeople and office coordinators to ensure timely repairs and high service standards.

Demonstrated experience in carpentry, plumbing and related trades, plus the ability to manage

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in multi-skilled repair and maintenance, esp. carpentry and plumbing, ideally plastering.
• Experience handling vulnerable individuals and managing HMO properties.
• Good communication to build strong internal and external relationships.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• A clean Enhanced DBS / police check.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure.
• Close attention to detail and strong administrative skills.
• Previous experience in a similar role and working with a team.
• Ability to work on own initiative and flexibly to meet demands.

Responsibilities

• Take instructions from the StS administrator on daily job schedules.
• Attend units for StS inspections and prepare them for inspection with proactive repairs.
• Register progress reports and complete job reports.
• Collate data for each job with photos/videos.
• Maintain relationship with StS inspectors and team.
• Ensure stock levels are maintained in your vehicle.
• Deliver high levels of customer service and handle complaints professionally.
• Update information on the PDA system as required.
• Carry out duties in line with Stef & Philips policies and other departments' requests.

Job description

The Role

We're proud to be an approved StS provider, which gives our local authority clients and our tenants the confidence that the accommodation we provide is safe and of a good standard. As our StS engineer, you'll visit our properties across London to inspect them for compliance with StS standards, carrying out remedial maintenance as required.

You'll also attend each property's annual StS inspection and will build a strong working relationship with the inspectors.

You'll be part of a larger team of other field based maintenance multi-traders, and office based co-ordinators to ensure that repairs are carried out promptly and effectively.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Taking instructions from the StS administrator regarding the daily schedule of jobs
• Attending units for StS inspections, and to prepare them for inspections, carrying out proactive maintenance repairs as required
• Registering job progress reports and completing job reports
• Accurate collation of data for each job (photos/ videos)
• Build a strong and effective working relationship with the team of StS inspectors
• Ensure material and supply stock levels are maintained at all times within your vehicle
• Ensure that the highest levels of customer service are fully implemented to achieve customer satisfaction guaranteeing complaints are handled with empathy and professionalism
• Any other relevant duties as requested by other departments
• Updating information on PDA system
• To comply with Stef & Philips policies and to carry out any duties that may reasonably be required

Skills & Knowledge

• Demonstrate substantial experience in multi-skilled trade repairs and maintenance, particularly carpentry and plumbing, and ideally plastering
• Experience with managing vulnerable individuals and managing HMO properties
• Good communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external teams.
• Full clean UK Driver's license
• A clean Enhanced DBS / Police checked
• Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a high-pressure environment
• Close attention to detail
• Strong administrative skills
• Previous experience in a similar position
• Working on own initiative without close supervision and as part of a team
• Work flexibly to meet the varying demands of the role in order to achieve agreed outcomes
