Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support the Property & Facilities Manager with repairs and maintenance to all properties.
• Supervise contractors and ensure works meet safety, certification, and quality standards.
• Check completed works before approving invoices and ensure costs align with budgets.
• Provide guidance on property alterations and rechargeable repairs per policies.
• Collaborate with Housing and other Council departments to improve performance.
• Carry out inspections of vacant properties to meet insurer requirements.
• Prepare schedules of work for larger repair projects.

We are seeking an experienced Housing Maintenance Officer to join their Property & Facilities team on an interim basis. The successful candidate will support the Property & Facilities Manager with the delivery of repairs and maintenance across approximately 60 residential properties used for temporary accommodation, affordable accommodation and resettlement accommodation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Property & Facilities Manager with the delivery of repairs and maintenance, ensuring works are completed on time and to a high standard.
• Monitor and supervise contractors undertaking repairs and maintenance, ensuring works meet required safety, certification and quality standards.
• Check completed works before invoices are approved, ensuring costs are in line with agreed budgets.
• Provide advice and guidance on matters such as property alterations and rechargeable repairs in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with Housing and other Council departments to improve performance and deliver a consistent service.
• Carry out inspections of vacant properties to meet the requirements of the Council’s insurers.
• Prepare schedules of work for larger repair projects.
