Qualifications

  • Experience in housing maintenance, repairs, surveying or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience undertaking property inspections and identifying defects.
  • Knowledge of responsive repairs and remedial works.
  • Experience monitoring contractors and inspecting completed works.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements and CDM.
  • Ability to prepare survey reports, specifications and estimates.
  • Experience working with residents and responding to complaints and enquiries.
  • Understanding of procurement, contract and budget management.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage repairs projects from initiation through to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate repair histories, records and information relating to completed works.
  • Engage specialist services and contractors in accordance with procurement procedures.
  • Attend panels and meetings and prepare reports and information for senior management.
  • Support the Repairs Service and Repairs Call Centre, including participation in duty rota arrangements.

Repairs Support Officer

Location: East London

Contract role

Umbrella Rate: £232.28 per day

PAYE Rate: £172.37 per day

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Officer to join a Housing Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing maintenance or surveying professional to play a key role in supporting responsive repairs across a portfolio of approximately 5,000 social housing properties, including estate environments and leaseholder liabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake inspections and surveys following repair requests, including visits to tenanted properties.
  • Investigate technical defects and provide advice on damp, specifications, estimates, labour requirements and health and safety.
  • Prepare survey reports, estimates and orders for works, ensuring value for money and commercial feasibility.
