Job summary

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Project Officer (Private Rented Sector) to coordinate the Selective Licensing scheme across the borough. You will lead day-to-day activities, manage licence applications, inspections, data management and reporting within the Private Sector Housing Service.

The role requires strong organisational skills, experience in regulatory housing or partnership work, and the ability to build relationships with landlords, residents and partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating projects, programmes or operational workstreams.
• Experience working with data, analysing information and producing reports.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex administrative processes.
• Experience working with digital systems, databases and case management software.
• The ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day coordination of the Selective Licensing project and associated private rented sector initiatives.
• Manage licence application processes and ensure accurate records are maintained.
• Coordinate inspections, compliance checks and information sharing activities.
• Monitor project performance, analyse data and produce reports for managers and stakeholders.
• Support the delivery of wider private rented sector functions, including work linked to the Renters Reform Act and housing standards.
• Develop action plans, maintain project documentation and track progress against milestones.
