Job summary

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council in Sandwell is seeking a Housing Hub Officer to join the Housing Management Service. You will provide housing advice, resolve tenancy enquiries and support customers to access services through digital channels, delivering high standards of customer care.

The role is a 6-month fixed-term contract, 37 hours per week, based at Sandwell Council House in Oldbury, with a band D SCP 9-17 salary (£28,153 - £32,046 per annum).

Qualifications

• At least 12 months' experience delivering services directly to customers, stakeholders or partners.
• Experience in a busy, high-volume environment with competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and ICT systems confidently.
• Knowledge of digital channels including web and social platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service across multiple channels (phone, face-to-face, digital, social).
• Manage and resolve tenancy enquiries with timely and accurate advice.
• Support customers to access services digitally where possible.
• Make routine housing management decisions per policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with tenancy teams for complex or sensitive cases.
• Signpost to council services, agencies and community organisations.
