Job summary

Transform Housing & Support is seeking a Housing Compliance Officer to own landlord compliance across our Surrey portfolio. You’ll lead health and safety programmes that ensure properties meet the standards keeping residents safe, and you’ll join our Asset Management Team of 20 people who support housing services.

You will deliver servicing and regulatory compliance, oversee IT systems for performance, and drive timely remedial works while supporting vulnerable residents in our care.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering servicing and compliance programmes with cyclical maintenance contracts in housing.
• Experience in property maintenance, client or contractor side.
• Understanding of landlord responsibilities for statutory/regulatory/HSE requirements.
• Knowledge of Awaab's Law and HHSRS.
• Regulatory compliance knowledge in housing associations or local authorities.
• Experience using IT systems to manage and monitor performance.
• Ability to take ownership and deliver to timescales.

Responsibilities

• Deliver servicing and cyclical maintenance across the portfolio using in-house and external contractors.
• Manage HHSRS works through IT systems in line with HHSRS and Awaab's Law.
• Arrange and monitor gas servicing, EICRs and other compliance appointments with external contractors.
• Manage service chargeable works through cyclical maintenance programmes.
• Instruct, complete and record remedial works with the right evidence.

Salary: 35,000 per annum plus benefits

Location: Leatherhead, Surrey

Working pattern: Permanent, full time (37 hours per week)

About the role

Transform Housing & Support provides housing and support for socially excluded and vulnerable people across Surrey, parts of Berkshire, West Sussex and the London Borough of Sutton. We believe everyone should be able to live an independent and fulfilling life.

As our Housing Compliance Officer, you'll own landlord compliance across our housing portfolio. You'll run the health and safety programmes that make sure every property meets the standards that keep residents safe in their homes. You'll join our Asset Management Team of 20 people, who provide services to our Housing Support colleagues and the people we house.

What you'll be doing

• Delivering all servicing and cyclical maintenance across the portfolio, using in-house teams and external contractors
• Managing HHSRS works through our IT systems, in line with HHSRS and Awaab's Law
• Arranging and monitoring gas servicing, EICRs and other compliance appointments with external contractors
• Managing service chargeable works through cyclical maintenance programmes
• Making sure all remedial works from inspections and surveys are instructed, completed and recorded with the right evidence

What you'll bring

• Experience delivering servicing and compliance programmes with cyclical maintenance contracts in a housing association or local authority
• Experience in property maintenance, either client side or contractor side
• A thorough understanding of registered landlord responsibilities for statutory, regulatory and HSE requirements
• A thorough understanding of Awaab's Law and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the housing association or local authority sector
• Experience using IT systems to manage and monitor performance
• The ability to take ownership of issues and deliver to set timescales
