Job summary

Home Group Limited is seeking a Community Housing Assistant to support Housing Managers in delivering high-quality housing management services across communities. You will provide a proactive, customer-focused service to help customers sustain tenancies and navigate housing processes.

The role is mainly home and community based (two days per week) with a base at Thremhall Park for Bishop's Stortford, covering North Herts, Northstowe, Fenland, Stevenage and Essex; a vehicle is required and a DBS

Qualifications

• Experience working in housing management, customer services, community services, or a related environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate concerns.
• Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
• Knowledge of tenancy sustainment and safeguarding principles.
• Experience maintaining accurate records and updating case management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support customers to sustain their tenancies through regular contact, practical assistance, and signposting.
• Monitor progress and escalate concerns to Housing Managers.
• Deliver neighbourhood and community management services, investigate low-level anti-social behaviour, maintain records, provide advice, and monitor escalation cases.
• Manage voids and lettings administration, maintain trackers, and keep systems up to date.
• Coordinate mutual exchanges, tenancy checks, home visits, and liaise with customers, colleagues, and partners throughout the process.
• Support compliance and performance activities by arranging customer appointments and escalating safeguarding concerns when needed.
