Job summary

Autism Initiatives is seeking a proactive Housing & Property Lead on the Isle of Man to manage properties, repairs and contractor relationships across services. The role focuses on safety, compliance and value for money, ensuring lettable standards and high-quality environments for the people we support.

You will work with service managers, landlords and suppliers, coordinating projects, inspections and maintenance while upholding the organisation's values. DBS required.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Coordinate major property projects including refurbishments and service openings/closures.

Housing and Property Lead

£20,870 per annum, based on a 22.5 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Housing & Property Lead to join our team on the Isle of Man.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong property, housing, repairs and contractor-management experience to play a key role in ensuring our properties are safe, well maintained, compliant and of a high standard for the people we support.

Working closely with service managers, the UK Housing Services Team, landlords, contractors and suppliers, you will provide practical housing and property support across our services on the Isle of Man. You will help ensure that repairs and maintenance are managed effectively, properties meet our required standards, and property projects are delivered to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

As Housing & Property Lead, you will:

  • Support service managers with the management of properties through service monitoring and inspection visits.
  • Ensure void properties meet Autism Initiatives' lettable standards and are ready for occupation.
  • Manage and develop relationships with contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is completed to an appropriate standard and represents value for money.
  • Support the Housing Services Team with major property projects, including refurbishments and the opening and closure of services.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance, liaising with services, contractors and landlords, obtaining quotes and arranging inspections where required.

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and confident in managing a varied property and housing workload.

You will be able to build positive working relationships with a wide range of people and communicate effectively with colleagues, service managers, landlords, contractors, families and external agencies.

You will have a strong focus on quality, safety, compliance and value for money, together with the ability to manage repairs and property issues efficiently and professionally.

Most importantly, you will understand the importance of providing high-quality environments that support the wellbeing, dignity and independence of people we support

This position is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure for the successful applicant, costs of which will be met by Autism Initiatives
