The Milner York is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead a dedicated team and uphold the hotel’s high standards. You will oversee room cleanliness, supervise staff, and coordinate daily operations to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction.

With a focus on teamwork, training, and statutory safety, you’ll play a hands-on role while supporting the Head Housekeeper and maintaining The Milner York’s renowned guest experience.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR AT THE MILNER YORK

What you’ll be doing…

1. Leading by example: Support and motivate the Housekeeping team, creating a positive working environment where colleagues feel supported and take pride in their work.

2. Maintaining high standards: Carry out bedroom and public‑area inspections, ensuring cleanliness, presentation and guest‑ready standards are consistently achieved.

3. Supporting daily operations: Help coordinate room cleaning schedules and workloads to ensure rooms are ready on time and operational priorities are met.

4. Coaching and developing colleagues: Train, guide and support team members, providing constructive feedback and helping colleagues build their skills and confidence.

5. Working with other departments: Communicate closely with Front Office, Maintenance and other teams to manage room status, report defects and resolve issues quickly.

6. Managing supplies and equipment: Help monitor housekeeping stock, linen, cleaning products and equipment, ensuring resources are used effectively.

7. Following procedures: Ensure the team follows health and safety requirements, safe chemical handling, cleaning procedures and hotel standards.

8. Responding to guest needs: Help resolve housekeeping‑related requests and concerns promptly and professionally, always keeping the guest experience at the heart of what you do.

9. Supporting the Head Housekeeper: Assist with the smooth running of the department, helping maintain productivity, consistency and high standards across the hotel.

10. Being hands‑on: Be ready to support the team on the floor whenever needed. This is a practical, visible leadership role where your presence makes a difference.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about housekeeping and understands that the smallest details can make the biggest difference.

You’ll bring:

1. Previous housekeeping experience, ideally within a hotel environment, with experience supervising or supporting a team.

2. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards.

3. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate colleagues, lead by example and support a positive team culture.

4. Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy hotel environment.

5. Clear communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues across different departments.

6. A proactive, can‑do attitude and the flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs.

7. A practical approach to problem‑solving and the confidence to address standards or performance concerns professionally.

8. An understanding of health and safety and the importance of following safe working practices.

9. A genuine passion for hospitality and making every guest feel welcome.
