The Milner York is seeking a proactive Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our team and uphold the high standards guests expect. You’ll model excellence, motivate colleagues and ensure bedrooms and public areas are clean, well-presented and guest-ready.

Working on the floor when needed, you’ll coordinate room cleaning schedules with Front Office and Maintenance, train staff, monitor stock, and drive safety practices to protect everyone. A hotel background and proven leadership are essential.

Qualificações

• Proven housekeeping experience, ideally in hotels.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Attention to presentation and cleanliness standards.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and motivate the Housekeeping team to maintain high standards.
• Carry out inspections of bedrooms and public areas.
• Coordinate room cleaning schedules and workloads.
• Coach and develop team members with constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with Front Office and Maintenance to manage room status.
• Monitor stock and equipment use; ensure safe handling.
• Enforce health and safety procedures and hotel standards.
• Respond promptly to guest needs and maintain guest satisfaction.
• Support Head Housekeeper to ensure department productivity.
• Be hands-on on the floor when required.

What You’ll Be Doing…

• Leading by example: Support and motivate the Housekeeping team, creating a positive working environment where colleagues feel supported and take pride in their work.
• Maintaining high standards: Carry out bedroom and public-area inspections, ensuring cleanliness, presentation and guest-ready standards are consistently achieved.
• Supporting daily operations: Help coordinate room cleaning schedules and workloads to ensure rooms are ready on time and operational priorities are met.
• Coaching and developing colleagues: Train, guide and support team members, providing constructive feedback and helping colleagues build their skills and confidence.
• Working with other departments: Communicate closely with Front Office, Maintenance and other teams to manage room status, report defects and resolve issues quickly.
• Managing supplies and equipment: Help monitor housekeeping stock, linen, cleaning products and equipment, ensuring resources are used effectively.
• Following procedures: Ensure the team follows health and safety requirements, safe chemical handling, cleaning procedures and hotel standards.
• Responding to guest needs: Help resolve housekeeping-related requests and concerns promptly and professionally, always keeping the guest experience at the heart of what you do.
• Supporting the Head Housekeeper: Assist with the smooth running of the department, helping maintain productivity, consistency and high standards across the hotel.
• Being hands-on: Be ready to support the team on the floor whenever needed. This is a practical, visible leadership role where your presence makes a difference.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about housekeeping and understands that the smallest details can make the biggest difference.

You’ll Bring

• Previous housekeeping experience, ideally within a hotel environment, with experience supervising or supporting a team.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate colleagues, lead by example and support a positive team culture.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy hotel environment.
• Clear communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues across different departments.
• A proactive, can-do attitude and the flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs.
• A practical approach to problem-solving and the confidence to address standards or performance concerns professionally.
• An understanding of health and safety and the importance of following safe working practices.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and making every guest feel welcome.
