Job summary

The Stratford is a 145-bedroom design-led hotel located in the Stratford area. We are seeking a Housekeeping Porter to support the housekeeping team, assisting Supervisors and Managers with daily tasks, including delivering linen, collecting waste, and assisting with room readiness.

You should have a positive, hands-on approach, be well organised, and have experience in hotel porter or housekeeping roles. Weekend and bank holiday work is required; uniform provided and physical duties involved.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clean linen and amenities to floors and stock cupboards.

• Handle guest requests from Reception (extra beds, cots, pillows).
• Support room attendants during busy periods to ensure rooms are ready.

Job description

The Stratford is a 145-bedroom design-led hotel set within Manhattan Loft Gardens, a 42-storey skyscraper which also features 248 loft apartments, three sky terraces, two restaurants, three bars and four event rooms. The building is located within walking distance from Stratford International Station and Westfield Shopping Centre.

We’re looking for a Housekeeping Porter to join our Housekeeping Team. You’ll be the support behind the Housekeeping Team, helping the Supervisors, Assistant Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Manager with whatever the day needs. This includes:

What you’ll do…

• Deliver clean linen and amenities to floors, and keep linen cupboards and floor stores stocked
• Collect used linen and rubbish and keep back-of-house areas tidy
• Help with linen counts and laundry deliveries
• Deliver guest requests from Reception, such as extra beds, cots, pillows and irons
• Support room attendants during busy period so rooms are ready on time
• Move furniture and equipment around the hotel when needed, for example setting up or clearing rooms
• Help with deep cleans and other tasks set by your managers
• Report maintenance issues and lost property to your supervisor
• Follow health and safety, manual handling and COSHH procedures

• Experience as a hotel porter, linen porter, housekeeping assistant or cleaner
• Flexible to work weekends and bank holidays

Please note, this is a role that involves lifting, pushing trolleys and moving furniture, so you’ll need to be comfortable working physically throughout your shift. Uniform is provided.
Shifts: 7AM – 3:30PM or 2:30PM – 11PM including weekends. Rota shared 1 week in advance.
Contract: Permanent
