Job summary

Caron Group is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to join our family of care homes in mid and south Wales. You will undertake all housekeeping tasks, maintain cleanliness in all areas, and support the Housekeeper and nursing staff.

The role requires physical fitness, a good work ethic, and the ability to work well in a team and independently. We emphasise dignity and choice for residents and a commitment to privacy.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a team and independently.
• Follow Health & Safety measures and Infection Control Guidance.
• Understand COSHH guidance and wear safety clothing when handling products.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of and comply with Health & Safety measures to reduce cross infection.
• Ensure cleaning and hygiene products are used correctly and refer to COSHH guidance.
• Be responsible for in-house cleaning and laundry as directed by the Housekeeper.
• Work as scheduled by the Housekeeper to meet residents' needs and home requirements.
• Maintain high standard of cleanliness in the Home at all times.
• Assist nurses to ensure cleanliness and infection control.
• Promote dignity, respect, freedom and choice for residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and company information.
• Report Health & Safety concerns to the manager or maintenance.
• Cover colleagues during sickness, holidays, emergencies and larger incidents.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety, COSHH, environmental health and fire procedures.
• Report complaints to the Manager / Nurse-In-Charge promptly.
• Attend training and development opportunities.
