Job summary

Caron Group is a family of care homes in mid and south Wales, seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Assistant on a zero hours contract to help maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control. You will work under the Housekeeper and/or nurse-in-charge, supporting residents with dignity and respect.

The role requires physical fitness, a good work ethic and the ability to work well in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• To be aware of, and comply with, all Health & Safety measures to reduce / eliminate cross infection by ensuring all cleaning is undertaken in compliance with Infection Control Guidance
• To ensure that all cleaning / hygiene products are used correctly by self and others and refer to COSHH guidance at all times
• To ensure that self and others wear / use safety clothing & equipment when using products and refer to all COSHH guidance at all times
• To be responsible for all ‘in-house’ cleaning / laundry as directed by the Housekeeper
• To work as scheduled by the Housekeeper to meet the needs of the residents & Home
• To maintain the high standard of cleanliness in the Home at all times.
• To respond to requests from nurses for assistance to ensure cleanliness and infection control in the Home
• To promote and demonstrate dignity, respect, freedom and choice for all residents in the Home.
