Job summary

Thornbury Castle Hotel, set on 15 acres and renowned as the only Tudor Castle hotel in England, is seeking a part-time housekeeping assistant. The role involves cleaning public areas and guest rooms, restocking supplies and engaging with guests to ensure a high standard of service.

You will work 20 hours per week, 11am to 2:30pm, five days a week including weekends, with full training provided and a supportive team. Benefits include a share of the service charge and discounts on stays and meals.

• Prepare bedrooms and bathrooms to high standard, linen refresh.
• Engage with guests and assist as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean public areas to high standard, including vacuuming, polishing and dusting.
• Clean bedrooms and bathrooms; refresh linen and towels.
• Restock guest room supplies and amenities.
• Interact with guests and assist with requests.
• Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping manager.
• Attend training sessions as provided.

Job description

Set on 15 acres of beautiful land, Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England. The Castle has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment program, bringing back to life the regal grandeur of its past. Located 20 minutes' drive from Bristol, it offers 26 rooms and suites, an award-winning restaurant, bar, and two unique meeting and conference spaces.

• £12.71 per hour
• 20 hours per week - 11am - 2:30pm. 5 days a week, including weekend work
• Ensuring all hotel communal areas are cleaned and tidied to a high standard, including vacuuming, polishing and dusting
• Ensuring bedrooms and bathrooms are cleaned to a high standard, including refreshing linen and towels, vacuuming and polishing
• Restocking guest room supplies, including linen, amenities and collaterals
• Engaging with guests where required
• Reporting any maintenance issues to Housekeeping manager
• Cleaning rooms can be very physically demanding but you will receive full training and be surrounded by a supportive team
• An additional share of the service charge and tips every month
